3 injured at Disneyland after high winds knock over light pole
Three people were injured, one seriously, on Monday morning when high winds knocked over a light pole at Disneyland in California.
The incident occurred around 8:30 a.m. local time at the park’s Main Street, U.S.A. section, according to the Orange County Register.
Anaheim Fire and Rescue transported the seriously injured person to the hospital while two others were treated at the scene.
No other information about their injuries were released. A witness described an elderly woman taken away on a stretcher and a person with a bandage on their head.
The park remained open and visitors were directed away from the area. According to Disneyland News Today, workers secured other light poles in the area with cables as the high winds continued.
The National Weather Service had warned Monday morning that winds in Orange County could reach speeds between 30 to 40 miles per hour, with gusts of 65 miles per hour. The advisory remains in effect until Tuesday morning, but the force of the winds has decreased.
