Iowa vs. Purdue: Hawkeyes will get revenge and cover

The Big Ten features a matchup Tuesday between one of the most profitable teams at home this year in Iowa playing host to a Purdue team that has had its struggles on the road.

Iowa is 11-2-2 against the spread at home this season, the top cover percentage among power five teams and tied for fifth among the 353 Division I teams. Purdue is the complete opposite with a 2-7-2 ATS record on the road, which is tied for eighth-worst among all Division I teams.

The last time these two teams played, Iowa got destroyed, 104-68, on Feb. 5 as Purdue hit a season-high 19 3-pointers and had 29 assists while Iowa made 23 total field goals. This should regress with a change in venue as Purdue shoots 38.1 percent from 3-point range at home but just 28.5 percent on the road.

Iowa also has the advantage of having one of the most versatile big men in Luka Garza, who scored 26 points the first time these teams met. The 6-foot-11 combo player is shooting better than 40 percent from 3-point range at home. For the season, he is registering 23.7 points, 9.8 rebounds, and 1.7 blocks per game.

With Iowa ranking sixth among Division I teams in assist-to-turnover ratio and Purdue rating 328th in assists allowed per made field goal, the Hawkeyes should avenge their loss from a month ago and continue to make backers money when they play in Iowa City.

The play: Iowa, -5.
