With March Madness canceled due to the coronavirus pandemic, the top NCAA prospects are starting to declare for the 2020 NBA Draft.
Georgia freshman Anthony Edwards, listed in some mock drafts as the potential top overall selection, announced Friday his intentions to make the jump to the NBA.
“I just want to declare for the 2020 NBA Draft,” Edwards told 247Sports and Fox Sports basketball insider Evan Daniels. “I think I should go number one, no doubt. That’s the only place I think I should go.”
Bleacher Report’s most recent mock draft released this week has the 6-foot-5 combo guard going first overall to the Golden State Warriors, with the Knicks grabbing North Carolina point guard Cole Anthony – the son of former Knicks guard Greg Anthony – with the sixth overall pick.
Edwards averaged 19.1 points, 5.2 rebounds and 2.8 assists this season for Georgia. He signed this week with Octagon agent Omar Wilkes for his professional representation, according to the 247Sports report.
