Tom Brady cringes at Julian Edelman’s awkward Patriots declaration

Tom Brady looked extremely uncomfortable for a moment Saturday while sitting next to Patriots teammate Julian Edelman and comedian Jimmy Fallon at the Syracuse-UNC game in upstate New York.

“He’s coming back, he’s coming back,” a clean-shaven and smiling Edelman could be seen saying during the Tar Heels’ 92-79 win, as cameras panned toward the two Super Bowl winners.

Fallon clapped at Edelman’s declaration, but Brady appeared to cringe.

Edelman hasn’t been shy about wanting Brady to return to New England for a 21st season, even begging the 42-year-old to come back on social media this offseason.

But many signs point to Brady signing elsewhere after he becomes a free agent in March, as expected, including the fact Brady and the Patriots have yet to meet regarding a new contract (which likely is due to the undecided collective bargaining agreement).

The Raiders, Buccaneers and Chargers are expected to pursue Brady, who has made more than $235 million with New England.

Though Brady’s future has been the talk of football, Edelman mostly has been out of the limelight since his arrest in January after the 33-year-old wide receiver allegedly jumped on the hood of a Mercedes in Beverly Hills.
